Carol Wilson, Winemaker
Being a fifth-generation native of the Napa Valley, Carol Wilson has always had a passion for agriculture. She has fond memories of helping out in her grandparents’ garden when she was a child. It was while in college that she became passionate about studying agriculture and soils and found her true calling—winemaking. Carol graduated with a bachelor of science degree in viticulture and enology from the University of California, Davis, in 1999. In 1998, while still in college, she had her first harvest experience at Gloria Ferrer. After graduating, Carol spent the next three years as a “flying winemaker,” traveling between Australia and California, participating in two harvests per year at a number of wineries to build up her practical wine knowledge and build her technical skills.
